What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a subtle process that guides you into a trance. Trance is a natural part of our day, where our subconscious mind takes the lead.
Trance states accessed through hypnosis are the same trance states accessed throughout a day. You are still in control throughout hypnosis.
If you’ve ever driven a car, you might have sometimes wondered if the light you drove through was green, or be unable to recall the journey. This is because your unconscious put you on auto-pilot. However, if you were in danger, your mind would immediately recognise this and keep you safe.
This is the same in hypnotherapy. Your values and beliefs stay the same, so you can’t be hypnotised to do anything you disagree with.
Hypnotherapy uses trance to work with the subconscious mind.
In a day, most of our actions are controlled by our subconscious; physically this includes breathing, walking and sleeping; mentally this includes dreaming, recalling memories and experiencing thoughts and feelings.
As most of our problems are made by the subconscious, we need trance to work through them.
In trance, techniques draw on memories, beliefs and limitations that your subconscious is using. Working in the past, present and future, hypnotherapy can reframe how you saw yourself and impact how your mind predicts future circumstances will turn out. Through reframing, your subconscious can remove barriers that have always held you back and enable you to start living the life you want.
Hypnotherapy makes change possible, allowing you to live the life you dream of.

As hypnotherapy works with the subconscious, it can be used to support mental health conditions, break habits (e.g. smoking, overeating, nail biting), release fears and phobias and support physical healing.
Questions about hypnotherapy, my practise and how it will work with you can be answered via a free 30 minute Discovery Call, or by emailing me directly. Contact details can be found at the bottom of this page.
